✅ Widgets (Dashboard)
The Wavebox Widget Library lets you quickly add mini-apps (widgets) to your dashboards and new tab pages. Our Library contains 19 widgets for notes, tasks, links, feeds, and more—all in one place.
Add a Widget
- Open a Dashboard
- Select an existing dashboard from the webdock, or create a new one by clicking the + icon and searching the App Store for 'Wavebox Dashboard'.
- Users in advanced/teams mode can use the dashboard burger menu top-right to switch to the correct dashboard.
- Click “Add Widget”
- Look in the dashboard's top-right corner for the Add Widget button.
- A pop-out window will appear showing all available widgets.
Widget Library Pop-Up
Along the top of the Widget Library window, there are 3 tabs;
- Create Widget - choose a widget to add to the dashboard.
- Active Widget - choose a widget that you have already created.
- Team Widget - choose a widget that has been shared with a team.

Arrange and Resizing Widgets
- Move - Hover over the widget’s top bar and drag it to a new position on the dashboard.
- Resize - Drag from the widget’s corner to make it bigger or smaller.
- Align - Widgets snap to a grid. Adjust grid settings in dashboard preferences if needed.
Floating Widgets
Keep widgets always visible by popping them out:
- Click the widget’s Pop-out icon (usually in the top bar).
- Drag the floating widget anywhere on your screen.
- Click the Magic Wand button (in Wavebox's titlebar) to bring all floating widgets to the front if they get lost behind other windows.
- To dock it back into the dashboard, close the floating window or click the pop-out icon again.
Sharing with a Team
- Add to a Shared Dashboard
- In the widget’s menu, select Add to Dashboard and choose your team workspace.
- Everyone with access to that workspace sees and can edit the widget.
- Team Widget Library
- Sharing a widget automatically adds it to the Widget Library under the Team Widget tab. Other teammates can add the same widget to their own dashboards.
All edits are synced in real time—ideal for group task lists or shared notes.
Removing a Widget
- Remove from Dashboard
- Hover over the widget and click its Settings or Trash icon (depending on the widget).
- Confirm to delete it from the Dashboard.
- Moving vs. Adding
- “Move to Dashboard” removes the widget from the current Dashboard.
- “Add to Dashboard” lets the widget appear in both the original and new Dashboard.
Troubleshooting
- iFrame Widget Not Loading
- If an embedded site won’t display (blank or error), it may block third-party iFrames. Try a different site or open it in a normal Wavebox tab.
- Floating Widget Disappeared
- Click the Magic Wand icon in the Title Bar to bring popped-out widgets to the front.
- Make sure “Continue where left off” is enabled in Settings > General > Start-up so floating widgets reappear after restarting.
- Accidental Move
- If a widget vanished from one workspace, you may have moved it instead of adding. Add it back via Add Widget > Active Widgets.
- No 'Add Widget' Button
- Update Wavebox to the latest version.
- Ensure you’re in a Dashboard, as classic tabs may not show widget options.
