✅ Widget: Sticky Notes

Sticky Notes is a widget you can add to any Dashboard in Wavebox to keep track of reminders and short notes. This guide shows you how to add, manage, and troubleshoot Sticky Notes.

Add/Delete a Note

  • Open a Dashboard
    • Click the Dashboard icon in the Wavebox webdock (four squares).
    • Select an existing dashboard or create a new one.

  • Add the Widget
    • Click Add Widget button (top-right in the dashboard).
    • Select Sticky Notes from the widget library.
    • A note will appear in the dashboard.
  • Type Your Note
    • Click inside the new Sticky Note to start typing.
    • The note saves automatically.
  • Delete a Note
    • Click on the cog in the note header and select 'Delete' from the menu.

Organize and Format

  • Move & Resize
    • Drag the note to reposition it.
    • Drag the edges to resize.
  • Change Color
    • Each new note gets a preset color automatically.
    • Click the color palette icon in the note header to change the color.
  • Text Formatting
    • Click the letter A in the note header to show/hide the formatting options. Choose from;
      • bold, italic, underline, strikethrough
      • font bigger and smaller
      • numbered list, bulleted list
  • Each widget has a URL that can be copied and pasted into any tab.
  • Click the cog in the note header and select 'Copy widget link' from the menu.

Pop Out a Note

This feature lets you keep important notes visible even when you switch to other applications.

  • Pop-Out Icon
    • Click the pop-out icon (square with outward arrows) in the note header.
    • This opens the note in a small window that you can place anywhere on your desktop.
    • Pop-out notes will persist until they are closed.
  • Stay on Top
    • In the popped-out note, click the target icon to keep the note above other windows.
  • Close a pop-out note
    • Click on the X in the note header top-right.

Dashboards

Sticky note widgets can be moved and shared between dashboards. Click the cog in the note header and choose from the following options:

  • Move to dashboard (and is removed from existing one).
  • Add to dashboard (appears in both dashboards).
  • Share to team widget library (appears in the shared library so others can add to their dashboards).

Troubleshooting

  • Missing Widget
    • Make sure you’re in a Workspace. The Add Widget button only appears there.
    • Update Wavebox if Sticky Notes isn’t listed in the widget library.
  • Notes Disappear on Restart
    • In Settings > General > Start-up, enable Continue where I left off.
    • Only open notes reappear when Wavebox restarts.
  • Lost Floating Note
    • Click Focus All Widgets (the “magic wand” button) to bring all popped-out notes to the front.
    • Pin it on top using the target icon in the note’s pop-out window.
