✅ Widget: Search

The Search widget lets you quickly find open tabs, apps, smart notes, widgets, and more—all from one place. It’s powered by Wavebox’s global search engine (the same one used by Global Search), but conveniently embedded in your dashboard or New Tab page.

Add the Search Widget

  • Add a Widget
    • From any dashboard, select the Add Widget button top-right.
    • In the Widget Library, click Search to add it to your dashboard.
  • Position & Resize
    • Drag the newly added Search bar to where you want it.
    • Resize by clicking and dragging its edges if desired.

Use the Search Widget

  • Search Across Everything
    • Click in the widget’s input box and start typing.
    • Results appear automatically for:
      • Apps & Groups (sidebar items)
      • Open Tabs & Pinned Items
      • History (recently visited pages)
      • Web Searches (if no local match is found)
  • Open a Result
    • Click on a listed item or use the arrow keys to select and press Enter.
    • If it’s an existing tab, Wavebox switches to it; if it’s new, Wavebox opens a new tab or window.
  • Advanced Searches
    • Type a keyword, then select icons (e.g., Gmail, Drive) that appear in the results to search all your connected accounts at once.

Troubleshooting

  • No Results?
    • Check you’re typing in the Search widget (cursor active).
    • Update Wavebox if web suggestions never appear.
  • Widget Missing?
    • It only shows on dashboards or the New Tab page. Switch to a dashboard to find or re-add it.
  • Opening in New Windows
    • Web suggestions may open in new windows by default. Adjust link opening settings in Wavebox if you prefer the same window.
