✅ Start-Up Settings

Wavebox offers several ways to control what happens when you launch the app. Configure startup behavior to carry on where you get left off, launch specific apps or URLs, and even choose how Wavebox appears when your computer boots up.

Configure On-Startup

  • Open Settings
    • Click the cog (⚙) icon in the lower-left corner of Wavebox.
    • If you don’t see the options below, switch Advanced Mode on at the top of the Settings panel.
  • Pick a Startup Option:
    • Continue where you left off: Restores all open apps and tabs from your previous session.
    • Open groups, apps, and tabs: Loads your webdock groups and all their tabs.
    • Open groups and apps: Loads your webdock groups and apps, but no tabs.
    • Open a specific set of URLs: Launches Wavebox with the URLs you enter (instead of reopening the last session).
  • Save Your Changes
    • Wavebox automatically applies your selection.
    • Next time you open Wavebox, your chosen startup mode will take effect.

Launch a Specific App at Startup

  • Right-Click any App Icon in the webdock or tabstrip to open its context menu.
  • Hover over Settings in the menu, and check the box for “Launch this app on Start-Up”.
  • When you next open Wavebox, this app will appear first in the main window.
Tip: Uncheck the box if you’d like to go back to the default startup app (usually the top item in the webdock).

Open Wavebox at Computer Startup

  • Windows:
    1. Go to Settings > Apps > Startup (in Windows) and switch on Wavebox.
    2. Alternatively, add a Wavebox shortcut to your Windows Startup folder.
  • macOS:
    1. Open System Settings > Users & Groups > Login Items.
    2. Add Wavebox to the list to have it launch whenever you log in.
  • Linux:
    1. Use your distro’s Startup Applications or Session and Startup settings.
    2. Add Wavebox to the list of programs to run at login.

Troubleshooting

  • Don’t See On-Startup Settings?
    • Enable Advanced Mode in the top-right of Wavebox Settings.
  • Not Restoring Last Session?
    • Confirm you have “Continue where you left off” selected.
    • Make sure you’re fully quitting Wavebox (so it can save your session).
  • App Doesn’t Open at Startup?
    • Check you’ve set “Launch this app on Start-Up” on the app icon, not a group.
    • Only one app at a time can be marked to launch first.
  • Wavebox Opens Too Slowly?
    • Switch from “Open everything” to a lighter option like “Open groups and apps only”.
    • Reduce the number of auto-starting apps and tabs.
  • Multiple Profiles?
    • Open the Profile Manager in the top-right (user icon), then enable “Show on startup” to pick which profile(s) open first.

That’s it! By tweaking these options, Wavebox can load your favorite apps and tabs exactly how you like, whether you want everything from your last session restored or a fresh set of specific sites each morning. Enjoy a faster, more personalized start every time you launch.
