✅ Main Settings

Use Settings to customise how Wavebox looks and behaves. Most users find the default settings an excellent starting point, often making tweaks to things like the theme, hover menu layouts, new tab behaviour, and link opening rules later on.

Open Main Settings

There are multiple ways to access Settings:

  • Open in a pop-out window: Click the ⚙ Gear icon at the bottom of the Webdock.
  • Open in a tab:
    • Click the ☰Wavebox Menu top-right, then pick Settings at the bottom of the menu.
    • Use the Keyboard Shortcut ⌘, (command + comma).

Enable Advanced Mode (show all Settings)

  • New users start with a condensed version of Settings. You will see a callout box at the top of the General Tab under the title Settings Mode.
  • To show all Settings, click the toggle to the ON position.

Settings Tabs

  • Settings are divided into 3 tabs along the top of the window;
    • General - most settings are in this section.
    • Groups & Apps - customize appearance and behaviour
    • Spaces - edit and customize spaces.

Search Settings

You can also search for the setting you want to modify by entering its term in the search field at the top-right of the Settings window.

  • First, click the tab you want to search e.g. General.
  • Then, type your search term into the text field.

Applying Changies to Settings

  • Most changes/updates you make are applied immediately.
  • Some require a restart of the browser. If this is needed, it will be denoted next to the setting.
