✅ Profile Sync: Tab Restore
When using Wavebox on multiple computers, you can restore open tabs from one to another using the tabs from other devices feature. This helps you pick up where you left off and continue browsing seamlessly on different computers.
Profile Sync must be enabled to use this feature. Tabs do not restore automatically when using Profile Sync. They must be manually restored.
Before You Start
- Sign in to the same Wavebox Account on both devices. This ensures that you pick up your Pro Subscription.
- Enable Profile Sync to save tabs to the cloud. Go to Settings > General > Data & Sync to ensure both computers are connected to the same sync.
Restoring Tabs: Step-by-Step (preferred)
- Select the Group
- On the new device, click the Group in the webdock where you’d like to sync the tabs.
- Open the Tab Menu
- Click the + in the group tabstrip.
- From the dropdown, hover or click on Tabs from other devices.
- Choose What to Restore
- Click Restore All to open every synced tab.
- Or pick individual tabs from the list if you only need a few.
- Repeat as Needed
- Repeat the above steps for each Group you want to restore.
Restore Tabs: All at Once (with caution)
- Click on the ☰ Wavebox Menu top-right.
- Choose 'Restore all tabs from another device'
- In the pop-up, select a computer by clicking on the purple merge icon.
- Warning! If you are restoring lots of tabs, Wavebox may slow down momentarily!
Tips & Troubleshooting
- No Tabs Listed?
- Confirm that Profile Sync is turned on for both devices.
- Check Settings > General > Data & Sync to ensure you’re signed in to the same profile.
- Tabs Didn’t Open Automatically
- By design, tabs from other devices don’t open on their own; they need to be restored manually. Use Tabs from other devices to manually select which tabs to restore.
- Still Not Working?
- Contact Wavebox Support if tabs refuse to sync or appear in the menu.
