✅ Profile BackUps (Local)
When you update Wavebox, a backup of your Profiles is automatically saved on your computer's hard drive. It's possible to restore one of these to retrieve a setup or data that has been lost.
⚠️ Installing a backup will wipe any changes made since that backup, so create a new Profile and install it there first.
Make a Local Backup Manually
- Go to: Settings > General > Data & Sync
- Under the Import & Export to disk section, click on [Export] and save to disk somewhere on your computer.
Restore a Backup on your Computer
1) Find a Backup
- 🪟On Windows
- Open Windows Explorer
- Paste %localappdata% into the address bar and hit enter.
- Go to: WaveboxApp > User Data > Default > wavebox > snapshot > versioned
- 🍎On macOS
- Open Finder
- Click on Go in the top Menu Bar and hold down the Option key.
- Library will appear in the menu for you to select.
- Go to: Application Support > WaveboxApp > Default > wavebox > snapshot > versioned
2) Select the File in 'Versioned' Folder
- In the folder will be a bunch of files, each with different version numbers.
- Find one with the highest version number that isn't the version you're currently using. For example, if you have...
* 10.134.20 (current)
* 10.134.10
* 10.133.4
* 10.132.19
...you should pick version 10.134.10 as it's one behind the latest. - Right-click to copy the file to your desktop.
3) Create a new Profile and Install the Backup
- In Wavebox, click on the Profiles avatar top-right and select 'Add'
- Name the Profile e.g. Backup Test, and choose the option to 'Use Current Subscription'.
- In the new Profile, go to Settings > General > Data & Sync.
- Under the Import & Export to disk section, click on [Import].
- Pick the file you copied to the desktop.
- The backup data will appear in the Profile.
