✅ Privacy Lock

Privacy Lock prevents others from seeing your open apps and tabs in Wavebox when you are away from your desk. When enabled, it hides everything behind a PIN, password, or biometric login (e.g., Touch ID/Windows Hello).

Set up Privacy Lock

  • Open the Privacy Lock panel
    • Click the Padlock icon in the webdock.
    • Right-click on the Padlock icon and select 'Configure Lock'
    • Or go to Settings > Privacy & Security and click on Privacy Lock.
  • Choose a lock method
    • PIN: Enter a four-digit code.
    • Password: Create a more complex password.
    • Biometric unlock (optional): If supported by your device (Touch ID or Windows Hello), enable this in the settings.
  • Enable auto-lock (optional)
    • Select how long Wavebox can remain idle before auto-locking (e.g., 5 minutes).
    • If you’d prefer not to auto-lock, set it to “Never” or disable the timer.
  • Save your changes
    • Wavebox is now protected by Privacy Lock.

Troubleshooting

    • Click “Forgot PIN?” on the lock screen prompt (bottom right).
    • Follow the steps to reset your lock credentials.
  • Biometric unlock not working
    • Ensure your fingerprint or face recognition is set up at the system level (macOS/Windows).
    • Revisit the Privacy Lock settings to confirm biometric unlock is enabled.
  • Wavebox not auto-locking
    • Check that auto-lock is enabled and the idle time is set.
    • Confirm you haven’t suspended idle detection (right-click the Padlock icon).
  • Privacy Lock option missing
    • Make sure you’re on a Pro subscription or free trial. The lock is unavailable in the free version.

If issues persist, please restart Wavebox or contact support.

Tip: Privacy Lock is a great quick-privacy measure but not a full security solution. For shared or public devices, always use separate OS accounts and disk encryption where possible.
