⚡️ Performance Troubleshooting Guide.

Wavebox is designed to handle even the most complex setups smoothly. So if you're noticing performance slowdowns—such as lag, unresponsive tabs, or high memory usage—something isn’t quite right.

Don’t worry, these issues are usually easy to fix.

Try the steps below to get things running smoothly again before reaching out to support.

First, make sure you're running the latest version of Wavebox:

  1. Go to Settings > General Tab > About.
  2. Click [Check for Update Now].
  3. Restart your computer after updating.
  4. Launch Wavebox and see if the issue persists.

2. Check Apps & Tabs

  • Some apps or tabs may be using too many system resources.
  • Open the Navigator:
Go to Wavebox Menu > Navigator > List Navigator.
  • Sort the list first by Memory Usage, and then by CPU Usage.
  • Look for any tabs or apps using excessive memory or CPU.
  • Take action:
    • Click the 🌙 moon icon to sleep the tab.
    • Click the ❌ X icon to close it (recommended for best performance).

3. Troubleshoot Extensions

Some browser extensions—especially AI tools—can affect Wavebox's performance due to heavy processing or outdated data.

Steps to check your extensions:

  • Click the extensions icon in the toolbar.
  • Select Manage Extensions from the menu.
  • Disable all extensions by clicking the OFF toggle on each.
    • If you have a lot of extensions, click the Developer Mode toggle top right, then [Disable All] button.

  • See if performance improves.
  • If it does, enable each extension one by one until the issue is reintroduced.
    • Remove the extension
    • Restarting Wavebox
    • Reinstall the extension from the Chrome Store (which will also include any important updates).
