✅ Mute Audio
Wavebox lets you quickly identify and mute audio in any app or tab. Whenever an app or tab plays sound, you'll see a small speaker icon on its icon or tab. Follow the steps below to silence unwanted noise:
Mute an App or Tab
- Right-click the app icon or tab that’s playing audio.
- Select Mute.
- The speaker icon will disappear, indicating that the app or tab is muted.
Unmute an App or Tab
- Right-click the muted icon or tab.
- Select Unmute to restore sound.
Note: The audio stays muted until you unmute it manually.
Use Focus Mode to Mute All Audio
Focus Mode can mute audio across Wavebox for a set time. While Focus Mode is active, no Wavebox app or tab can play sound. Turn Focus Mode off or let it expire to hear audio again.
- Open Focus Mode from the sidebar (the bell icon).
- Check the option to Mute Audio.
- Set a time limit or choose Until turned off.
Troubleshooting
- Notification sounds: If you only want to silence notification chimes (but not other audio), adjust the app’s notification settings:
- Right-click the app icon > App Settings > Badges & Notifications and set Notification Sound to “none.”
- Persistent sounds: Some web apps have their own in-app sound settings. If muting notifications in Wavebox doesn’t help, check the app’s internal settings.
