✅ Home (House) Icon
The Home (House) Icon can be found in the Wavebox Toolbar, and is a quick way to return any web app's start page. Whether you’re new to Wavebox or an advanced user, the Home icon keeps navigation simple and efficient.
Overview
- The Home icon appears as a house in the top-left corner of the main Toolbar, next to the address bar.
- Clicking the icon instantly takes you to an app's default “start” URL.
- Every app has its own “Home” page (often set when you first add the app).
- You can also double-click the app’s icon to achieve the same result.
How to Use
- Go Home:
- While viewing any Wavebox app, click the Home (house) icon in the title bar to go back to the app’s main page.
- Alternatively, double-click the app’s icon in the sidebar.
- Set or Change the Home URL:
- Right-click the app icon in the sidebar > Settings > App Settings.
- Look for Account & Behaviour > App URL to check or change the URL.
- Wavebox uses this URL whenever you click the Home icon.
- Assign a Keyboard Shortcut:
- Go to Settings (cog icon bottom-left) > Keyboard Shortcuts.
- Click on 'Navigating & Split-Screen'
- Next to “Open homepage” click the shortcut field, then press your desired keys (e.g. Alt+H).
- This creates a quick way to jump “Home” without using the mouse.
Troubleshooting
- Home Icon Missing
- Ensure you’re in an app (not on the main Wavebox screen).
- Go to Settings > UI & Theme > Titlebar Actions to confirm the Home icon is enabled.
- Home Takes Me to the Wrong Page
- Update the start URL in App Settings (see above).
- Remove and re-add the app if needed.
- Double-Click Not Working
- Make sure you’re double-clicking the app’s icon in the sidebar or top toolbar.
- Check your OS double-click speed if it rarely registers.
- Keyboard Shortcut Doesn’t Respond
- Confirm the shortcut is still set under Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts.
- Avoid OS-reserved combos (e.g., Cmd+H on macOS).
- Try a different key combination if there’s a conflict.
Tips
- Refocus Quickly: If you stray too far into sub-pages, clicking Home or pressing your shortcut resets you to the app’s main view.
- Use Double-Click: If you hide the toolbar for a minimalist layout, just double-click the app’s icon to go Home.
- Customize Launch Settings: Enable Launch this app on Start-up (right-click > Settings) to open a specific “Home” page when Wavebox starts.
